Unleash Your Creativity with Blank
Layouts
In addition to the templates for greeting cards, calendars, etc.,
StudioLine Photo 2.6 now offers blank print layouts. After choosing a paper
format, drop in images and text. Your design objects can be positioned freely, aided by rulers, guides
and similar tools. Image tools and special effects can be applied against
image and text, such as drop shadows, frames and transparency. Compose new paragraphs in the text editor or copy from other word
processors. A multi-lingual spell-checker is built-in. Automatic text can be
generated from descriptors. If you already labeled your images in the image
archive, you won’t have to type headlines, captions or other data a
second time.
Create your own unique album pages, posters, flyers,
certificates – any kind of collage you can think of. Once complete you
can print your design, email it or export as a graphics file. |

Full Screen
View With a Click
Another new time saver is the ability to display an image in
full screen, without having to open the Image Viewer / Slideshow first. This
feature is found in the context menu. |
|||
Windows
Descriptors
With Windows XP, proprietary image tags were
introduced. StudioLine 2.6 shows these tags in their own
“Windows” group in the descriptor form, where they can be freely
edited. |
|||
Countless
Other Improvements
StudioLine Photo 2.6 continues to support
the RAW format of addition of new camera models. Date and time settings are now accessible
from the menu bar. The descriptor form opens automatically. Various details of the timeline and keywords
features have been further enhanced. |

Monthly Tip #1 – Quick Removal of Keywords and
Other Classifications
You can remove a keyword or rating without switching to
the “Classifications” view. When you originally assigned a classification, an object
status icon appeared below the thumbnail. (Different object status icons are
inserted by various functions available throughout StudioLine.) ·
Click the object status icon “Image has
keywords” to open a context menu. Choose which keyword you wish to
remove.
·
Click
the object status icon “Image is rated…” to open a context
menu to either change or remove the rating.

|||
Monthly Tip #2 – Speedy Album Navigation
For large image
archives with numerous folders it may be quicker to open a folder with the
keyboard instead of using the mouse. ·
In
“Albums” view, click on the “Image Archive” root or
any folder. ·
Type the
first few letters of the folder name you want to access. StudioLine will open
the first folder with a name that begins with those letters. ·
To
access a subfolder, press the “right arrow” key. ·
To
return to a parent folder, press the “left arrow” key. ·
Use the
“up arrow” and “down arrow” keys to move to the
previous or next folder. |
|||
Monthly Tip #3 – Keyboard Shortcuts Save Time
Keyboard shortcuts
are not limited to the album view. In fact, many functions of StudioLine are
only a keystroke or keyboard combination away. ·
Open an
image archive folder and click on the first image. ·
Press
the Tab key, the “down arrow” key or the “right
arrow” key to select the next image. ·
Use the
“up arrow” or “left arrow” key to select the previous
image, or press Shift and Tab simultaneously (“Back-Tab”). ·
To
activate the “zoom” on the current image, press Ctrl and “S”
simultaneously. Repeat and the zoom will be deactivated. ·
For
full-screen view, press Shift and “Z” simultaneously. Scores of other keyboard shortcuts exist. Check the menu
bar and context menus for a reminder of which keyboard actions are associated
with a certain function.
Online help lists additional keyboard shortcuts. |
