Dear StudioLine User:The newly available Version 3.3 update focuses on image descriptions and keywords. Once you have properly labeled images, added descriptive details and applied keywords, you'll be able to locate your images quickly. Furthermore, the metadata can also be included with images that you share with third parties. |

New Features in the Descriptors PanelAuto-Fill for DescriptorsClick on an editable descriptor and a drop-down list will offer values used for this descriptor with other images. As you start typing, the list will scroll to possible matches (if any). Besides saving time, the feature also enforces consistency and reduces the chance for typing errors.
Copying and Combining DescriptorsDrag a descriptor to the name of another descriptor, and the descriptor content will be replaced (1). If you drag a descriptor to the input area of another descriptor, then the descriptor will be concatenated to the current content (2). Instead of copying the content you can also insert a placeholder, by holding the "Shift" key while dragging the descriptor (3). The simple mouse actions can be a big productivity boost. 1. Dragging Mouse to Descriptor Name
2. Dragging Mouse to Descriptor Content
3. Holding-Down "Shift" Key While Dragging Mouse to Descriptor Content
Copying "Read-Only" DescriptorsSome descriptors (such as certain Exif camera information) can be copied with the techniques mentioned above but cannot be edited. You may, however, click the right mouse button on the descriptor, choose "Copy to Clipboard" from the context menu and then paste it into other descriptors or applications. Expand Personalized Input Forms by Copying DescriptorsYou can copy descriptors from existing personalized forms to new forms, by dragging them to the name of a personalized form. This is a convenient way to quickly create new input forms, which can then be further expanded. |

Perfect Keyword ManagementApply Keywords with Double-ClickKeywords and categories can be applied to images using a simple double-click, in addition to the already available drag & drop method. You get to choose the technique you're most comfortable with. Apply Keywords and Include Group NamesYou can organize your keyword or category lists in a hierarchical (tree) structure. When applying keywords to the IPTC keywords or other descriptors, you have the option to also include the node names of all parent groups. Simply click the right mouse button on a keyword or category and choose "Apply as Keyword With Names of Parent Groups" from the context menu. Apply Group Names as KeywordsYou can apply a group name to images, without having to first create an individual keyword or category item by that name. Furthermore, with a single mouse-click, you can apply all keywords or categories of an entire group to an image. Just choose "Apply Name of This Group and its Keywords" from the context menu. View All Images for a GroupThe "Classifications" view can be used to quickly show all images associated with a particular keyword or category group. Simply click the checkbox next to a group.

New Export Format for Keyword ListsIn addition to XML, keyword lists can also be exported in plain text file format. Optionally, your tree structure can be represented with "tab" characters. This enables even more applications to work with StudioLine keyword lists. To export, click the right mouse button on a keyword or category group and choose "Export". During import, you can choose at which position a new list will be inserted. Click the right mouse button on the desired keyword or category group and choose "Import". |
