Customize Your Image Archive to Meet Your Needs

The preference settings for the image archive have been neatly organized into a single window. In addition to the familiar image archive preferences (which were once scattered over several screens), there are now many additional customization options to suite your taste perfectly.

·          Set unique thumbnail sizes for each of the different image archive views (albums, timeline, filter, classifications). In album view, each folder can have a distinct thumbnail size. By default, Subfolders will automatically inherit the thumbnail size from their parent folder.

·          Set a unique thumbnail size for the "Lightbox" display in the classifications view. Defining a larger thumbnail size will make it easier to compare and quickly assess images.

·          Choose the image archive background for the album view.

·          For album and filtered view, define a unique sort order when using the option to include subfolder content ("Flat" display)

·          In timeline view, choose whether images are displayed after selecting a month or only after choosing a particular day.

·          Using the "Advanced Settings", control the amount of space that StudioLine uses for its image cache and how quickly cache content is expired. The image cache holds thumbnail images.

Image Tags More Accessible

With Version 2.7, you can now use the StudioLine Explorer "My Computer" to preview Exif, IPTC and Windows information for images that have not (yet) been loaded into StudioLine.

Streamlined Working With Classifications

In "Classifications" view you can now quickly assign keywords or categories, by selecting any number of images and then dragging them to the appropriate classification.

The first image in the selection will be used as an icon for the particular classification (assuming an icon does not yet exist).  As in prior versions, you can still assign keywords and categories by dragging them to images. In that case, the classification icon will not be set.

Last, But Not Least

When loading files into StudioLine, you will now be prompted with a list of files (if any) that did not have recognizable content. In addition, StudioLine 2.7 includes numerous additional speed and usability improvements, many of which were recommended by customers.

Update StudioLine Now!

As always, existing customers can use the update option in the “Help” menu to keep StudioLine current at no charge. Or, you can download the free update from our web site:

Soon To Come…

The groundhog may have gone back to sleep, but we're already busy working on the next update:

·          A new white-balance tool to correct hues with a single mouse-click. You can't beat that for speed! Just as easy, you'll be able to equalize brightness – so your photos will truly shine.

·          Support of color profiles will make sure that the colors on your monitor will perfectly match the printed output.

·          A curve control will give you minute control over the spectrum of brightness for an entire image, as well as for individual color channels.

Use the "Check for Update" function from the "Help" menu at least once a month. This way your StudioLine will be always up to date.

Website of the Month

This month we spotlight another web site that was produced and is being managed with StudioLine Web:

www.Follona.de/Podere-Follona-EN

This site features vacation homes in the Toscana and is full of stunning photos from that region.

Are you looking for an efficient solution to design and publish a web site on your own? If so, please take a closer look at StudioLine Web.
